Kerala records 31,337 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, test positivity rate at 23.29; 97 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 31,337 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. Among these, 28,921 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2157 cases without an identified source of infection. 150 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 109 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

45,926 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 3,47,626 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 97 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 6612.

1,34,553 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 23.29.

With the addition of three new regions, there are 856 hotspots in the state.
