Kerala records 41,971 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, test positivity rate at 28.25; 64 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 41,971 COVID-19 cases on Saturday. Among these, 38,662 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2795 cases without an identified source of infection. 387 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 127 health workers contracted the disease on Saturday.

27,456 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 4,17,101active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 64 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 5746.

1,48,546 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 28.25.

With the addition of 4 new regions, there are 788 hotspots in the state.
