Kerala records 49,771 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 63 deaths, TPR at 48.06

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 55,475 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 45,846 persons developed the disease through contact, including 3272 cases without an identified source of infection. 196 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 457 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

34,439 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 3,00,556 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 63 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 52,281.

District wise breakup of positive cases:

Ernakulam 9567, Thiruvananthapuram 6945, Thrissur 4449, Kozhikode 4196, Kollam 4177, Kottayam 3922, Palakkad 2683, Malappuram 2517, Alappuzha 2506, Kannur 2333, Idukki 2203, Pathanamthitta 2039, Wayanad 1368, Kasaragod 866.

1,03,553 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The TPR stands at 48.06.
