Kerosene prices unaffordable; Fishermen explain problems to Rahul Gandhi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met the fishermen during Bharat Jodo Yatra. The fishermen informed Rahul Gandhi their problems including the increase in kerosene prices.

The price of kerosene, which was Rs 15 is now above 150. This price hike is unaffordable. Fishermen said that due to this many people are unable to go for work.

The fishermen also stated that the small boats are not getting enough fish because of the large ships arriving for fishing. Rahul Gandhi returned after receiving their memorandum. Meantime, the yatra of Bharat Jodo in Alappuzha will end tomorrow.
