THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kits alone are not enough for the people of the state during the lockdown and they should be given money also, said Muslim League leader P K Kunhalikutty. While moving the adjournment motion, he asked the government to make arrangements to provide at least Rs 5,000 to each ration card holder during this time as they face a financial crisis.

The government failed in preventing Covid. Suicides are happening in all areas. Kunhalikutty criticized the government saying they receive fines with their left hand and give kits with their right hand. When there was a system for defending Covid all over the world, Kerala failed in it.

However, Finance Minister K N Balagopal while replying said the economic situation in the state is deplorable and that in states like Punjab, the salaries of government employees have been stalled but in Kerala 85 lakh families have been provided with kits as a relief. Discussions on the motion are still ongoing.
