THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The two-day leadership meetings of the KPCC will begin on Wednesday. Office bearers meet will be convened today and executive meet will be held tomorrow. The interest of MPs to contest the assembly polls and the Tharoor controversy will be discussed in the meeting. The delay in the reorganization will also be discussed in the meeting. The re-organization from the lower level is being delayed.
There will be a decision to speed up the reorganization from the booth level. Also, the death of KPCC treasurer and his relatives lodging a complaint will be discussed. The reluctance of MPs to contest the Lok Sabha elections will also be discussed in the meeting. Shashi Tharoor MP had stated that many of the sitting MPs may contest for the assembly polls.
Meantime, the state leadership responded that no one need declare their candidacy. The party decides who and where to contest the elections. No one can make a decision on their own. Those who have an opinion on the matter should inform the party. Candidacy is a decision to be taken organizationally by the party. Taking decisions on your own is not the right course of action. Opposition leader V D Satheesan had mentioned the other day that no one should announce their own candidacy.
