Major fire breaks out at plywood company in Ernakulam, efforts underway to douse it

ERNAKULAM: A fire broke out in a plywood company in Perumbavoor. It is reported that the workers are not trapped inside the establishment. The fire broke out at Phalcus Indus Plywood Company in Keezhillam Triveni. Two fire force units arrived initially and tried to douse the fire. Later, two more units of the fire force reached the spot and continued their efforts to douse the fire.

Three shops were gutted in a fire in Kollam two days ago. One shop was completely gutted and two shops were partially gutted. No casualties were reported. Ranjus Pushpa wholesale establishment at Lakshminada Junction, Kollam, and nearby milk and fish selling establishments caught fire. Ranjus Pushpa wholesale establishment burnt to the ground.

Raw materials for making candles were stored at Ranjus Pushpa Wholesale Company, which was the first to catch fire. The fire force reached the spot immediately after the accident, but the fire had spread to two other shops nearby. Firefighters worked for more than an hour to bring the fire under control. It is assumed that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
