nipah

KOZHIKODE: The samples of fifteen more people who came in contact with the boy who died of Nipah virus, have turned negative. The samples were tested at the lab of Kozhikode Medical College. With this, the results of 61 have turned negative.

Health Minister Veena George had the other day stated that those admitted in the isolation ward can return home in three days. Even if they reach home they will have to be in quarantine. There are 64 people under observation at the Kozhikode Medical College. The samples of more will be taken today.

Vigilance continues in Kozhikode and nearby districts. Although the test results are comforting, finding the source of the virus infection is a challenge. The central team from Bhopal will reach Kozhikode either today or tomorrow.
