Muttil tree-felling: Three accused held, govt tells HC, arrested while going for mother's funeral

KOCHI: Roji Augustine, Anto Augustine and Jose Kutty Augustine, accused in the Muttil tree-felling case, have been arrested, the government told the Kerala High Court. The government’s lawyer informed the court that they have been arrested while the court was considering the accused plea to stop their arrest temporarily following their mother’s demise. The three were arrested while they were on their way to attend the funeral of their mother in Wayanad. The three nabbed by a police team led by Tirur DySP near Kuttippuram Bridge will soon be handed over to the crime branch.

The government told the court that the police would take the accused to Wayanad and allow them to attend their mother's funeral.
