THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the relaxation of lockdown curbs in the state, state police chief Loknath Behera has issued guidelines on documents to be kept by travelers from Thursday.
A pass is not required to travel to and from areas where the restrictions have been relaxed (places where the TPR rate is less than 8%) and in places where partial lockdown exists. But passengers must keep an affidavit with them. A police pass is required for those traveling from these two locations to places where a complete lockdown exists in connection with medical needs, weddings, funerals, construction activities, and industrial needs.
Pass is required to travel from places where is an existing complete lockdown to areas where partial lockdown is imposed and where restrictions are eased. Those who find it difficult to get the pass can get the pass from the concerned police station by preparing the application on white paper along with the required documents.
The application should include the full address of the local authority including the name and ward number of the destination, the travel requirement, the name and address of the person traveling, the mobile number and the number of the vehicle. Only travel in and out of places with triple lockdown will be for exams, medical needs and posthumous ceremonies. Passengers should carry appropriate identification card, hall ticket and medical records.
In the event of a resumption of liquor sales in the state on Thursday, those arriving at sales outlets and bars should use masks and sanitizers and maintain social distance. Police will be deployed to ensure this. The DGP also directed to intensify patrolling near such establishments.
