Plus One examination cannot be conducted online, should be allowed offline; govt tells SC

NEW DELHI: The state government has told the Supreme Court that the Plus One exam cannot be conducted online. The government has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court seeking permission to conduct the exam offline in compliance with the Covid norms.

Many children do not have internet access or computers. Therefore, some students may not write the exam conducted online. The affidavit stated that the evaluation cannot be done on the basis of the model exam and that the exam should be allowed to be conducted offline.

The government told the court that it hoped to complete the exam before the third wave in October. APM Mohammad Haneesh, Principal Secretary, Department of Public Education, filed the affidavit on behalf of the government. A bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar will consider the government's affidavit the next day.
