Police brutality again; locks three-year-old girl in car and takes key

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A police brutality by locking a three-year-old girl in the car and taking away the keys of it. The police seized the car in the name of over speeding and then took the keys and locked the vehicle. The officer refused to return the keys even though the girl’s parents requested for it.

The footages of the child crying in the car are now circulating on the social media. The incident happened on February 23. Police seized the car of Shibu Kumar. The police also imposed a fine of Rs 1,500 for over speeding.

Shibu plays musical instrument for ganamelas and his wife is a singer. Though he said that he has no money to pay fine due to Covid, the police paid no heed to it. When he returned an hour later after paying the fine, the policeman tried to beat Shibu when he showed other vehicles speeding. His wife shot this in her phone. The police then came running to their side and said would register and case and put them inside and then opened the door of the car, took the keys after the locking the car. The child who was alone in the car started crying.

Shibu and his family didn’t lodge a complaint then. Talking to a channel he said that he wanted people to see this after a man and his eight-year-old daughter was humiliated recently.
