THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The low pressure formed in the Arabian Sea has turned into extreme low pressure. Following this, red alert has been sounded again in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Ernakulam. Extreme care is advised in these districts. Orange alert in other districts up to Wayanad.
The Karamana and the Killi rivers are overflowing. Families have been evacuated from areas including Kalady. The southern districts received less rain in the morning but it started later.
There are about 500 relief camps in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. The camps function adhering to Covid norms. Patients and others are in two places. The Disaster Management Authority has warned that special care should be taken not to disrupt communication due to lockdown.
