RTPCR Certificate mandatory for travellers from Kerala to enter state; states tighten curbs

CHENNAI: In the wake of Covid surge in Kerala, restrictions are tightened in Tamil Nadu. Travellers entering the state from Kerala will be strictly checked. Many including Coimbatore collector will directly assess the situation at Walayar border.

Travellers having RTPCR negative certificate or vaccination certificate of two doses will be permitted to pass Walayar border. Being the first day, there will be no RTPCR testing at the border today. The Tamil Nadu health department informed that checking will be tightened from tomorrow.

After checking the body temperature, those having e-pass will be permitted to leave. Karnataka too tightens curbs at the border. Covid negative certificate is mandatory for those having taken two doses of the vaccine. They should have RTPCR certificate. Those with no negative certificate is being sent back at Thalappady.
