THRISSUR: The public will not be allowed to see fireworks from the Swaraj ground, said Controller of Explosives Dr P K Rana. The decision comes against the backdrop of the prevailing Supreme Court verdict. The concession has been denied considering the safety of the public.

The sample fireworks display of the Pooram will take place on Sunday. The fireworks will begin at the Paramekkavu Devaswom at 7 pm and at the Thiruvambady Devaswom by 8 pm. All the arrangements of the same have been completed. There will be traffic restrictions in the city on Sunday from 4 pm onwards.

The display of caparisons (Chamaya Pradarshanam) of the Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady Devaswoms will begin on Sunday. Suresh Gopi will inaugurate Paramekkavu's display and Revenue Minister K Rajan will inaugurate Thiruvambady's display of caparisons. The display will continue on Monday as well. On account of Thrissur Pooram, many trains have been allowed stops at Pookunnam.
