THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ministers V Sivankutty and Veena George said that they are now planning to conduct classes on alternate days when the school opens on November 1. "We are also thinking of conducting classes in schools till noon and online classes in the afternoon. No final decision has been made. Children will not be forcibly taken to schools. Only those with parental permission would be admitted to schools", the ministers told the media. The ministers were speaking to the media after a joint meeting of the health and education departments ahead of the opening of the school. The shift system is also considered.

The secretaries of health and education were tasked with preparing guidelines for the opening of the school. The guideline will be given to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Only then will there be a clear understanding of the opening of the school. The comprehensive report will be prepared in consultation with the managements, parents, teachers' unions and the legislators.
