ALUVA: SP M Hemalatha's bizarre punishment to two SHOs and a woman SI for arriving late for the monthly meeting held at the district police headquarters has become controversial. The SP had instructed the three who arrived late to run a distance of ten kilometers and send it on video.

It is reported that Mulanthuruthy SHO Manish Paulose ran from Mulanthuruthy to Peppathy at 5.45 am on the 16th and sent the video and location to the SP.

Last week, Manish and others arrived late for the monthly review meeting. Manish was accompanied by female SI Princy from the same station in the jeep. Another person who arrived late is Kalady SHO Anil Meppally. It is reported that Anil Meppally and Princy did not follow the SP's instructions.

SHO Manish was on night duty the day before the meeting. That is why he was late for the review meeting in Aluva. The SP's monthly meeting is never held on time. Therefore, most of the officers come late. Those who arrived late got in trouble on the day when the SP came on time.

Police personnel have complained that the SP issues memos even for trivial matters. Last week, DCRB DySP Abdul Rahim and others got transferred. Some others are trying to get transferred. The SP's actions have created resentment in the Police Association and the Officers Association.
