THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF would have won the Alappuzha Lok Sabha constituency if Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had visited Alappuzha two more times, said K Muraleedharan, who won the Vadakara seat. The main reason for the win of the UDF is Pinarayi Vijayan, he added.
Murali said the issues related to women entry in Sabarimala influenced the polls. Along with that, Pinarayi Vijayan would be the last chief minister of the CPM. Advocate A M Arif, the LDF candidate of Alappuzha got 4, 45,970 votes and UDF’s Shanimol Osman bagged 4, 35,496 votes.
