Thrissur witnesses Pooram spectacle; thousands await ‘Madathil Varavu’

THRISSUR: Thrissur is all set to witness the Pooram spectacle. Accompanied by Panchavadyam and Pandi Mela, Kanimangalam Sastha arrived at Vadakkumnatha Temple by around 7:30 am on Tuesday, marking the beginning of subsidiary Poorams. Thiruvambady’s ‘Madathil Varavu Panchavadyam’ led by Kongad Madhu began by around 11:30 am.

After the Pandi Melam at the Sree Mulasthanam, Thiruvambady Bhagavathy has arrived at the Vadakkumnatha Temple. The procession will begin at 12:15 pm from Paramekavu Bhagavathy temple. The vibrant Ilanjithara Melam led by Peruvanam Kuttan Marar will begin by around 2:30 pm.

Kudamattam and the goddess’ meeting will take place by 5 pm in the presence of millions of Pooram lovers. The Bhagavathy will return by 7 pm after the Kudamattam. The fireworks will be conducted from 3 am till 5 am on Wednesday. The Pooram will depart at 9 am on Wednesday at the Sree Mulasthanam.
