WAYANAD: It has been confirmed that the tiger that landed in Kurukkanmoola is still in the place. The pugmarks found by the authorities of the forest department following an inspection conducted after the locals informed of seeing the tiger has been confirmed of that of the wildcat. The locals are tensed after knowing that. A large contingent has been entrusted to trace the tiger. A tracking team consisting of 180 employees of the forest department and 30 cops will carry a detailed search. The search operations will be by six teams of experienced forest personnel each comprising of 30 members. The mission will start search from 9 am.

The Kumki elephants brought from Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary to find the tiger, scare and sent it back to the forest, will be brought to the plantation area today. Although cages have been set up in various places, the tiger is still roaming in the place. The tiger had killed many domestic animals. After public outcry, the forest department prepared a plan to capture the tiger. Top officials were deployed on the spot for this. Chief Wildlife Warden Bennichen Thomas is leading the mission in Kurukkanmoola. Although an extensive search was conducted at Kurukkanmoola and Payyampally last night, the wildcat could not be found.

The camera captured the footages of the tiger which landed at the human settlement at Kurukkanmoola. The tiger, which sustained a deep wound in its neck, is killing the domestic animals. The image of the tiger was captured in the camera set up by the forest department in the Kurukkanmoola Palvelicham forest area. The reason for the tiger to land at the place is because it is not healthy enough to hunt in the forest for its prey. As it sustained injuries, it is also difficult to capture the animal with shots.
