Two children drown in Meenachil river

KOTTAYAM: Two children drowned while bathing in the Meenachil River. The incident happened at Peroor Pallikunnel ghat in Kottayam at 1 pm this afternoon. Naveen and Amal of Cheruvandoor in Peroor are the two dead.

They went to bathe in the river with two other friends. They drowned after slipping. Though the locals tried to save the children, they were declared dead when brought to the shore. The bodies have been shifted to Kottayam Medical College.
