Two-year-old girl dies as tipper lorry hits scooter in Parassala, parents seriously injured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A two-year-old girl who was traveling with her parents on a scooter died after being hit by a tipper lorry that was speeding in the wrong direction. The accident took place at Karali, Parassala on the national highway at around 3 pm. Ritika, daughter of Paul Raj-Ashwini couple of Kaliyikkavila RC Street St. Antony Colony, died. Paul Raj and Ashwini are seriously injured. Ashwani is pregnant. Both were admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

It is suspected that the tipper driver was drunk. After knocking over the scooter, the tipper rammed into the wall of a nearby house and overturned. The injured driver and cleaner were admitted to a private hospital.
