Unregistered came to take vaccine, flaws in token distribution, more police deployed

covid

KOTTAYAM: Flaws were noticed in the distribution of token at the vaccination camp in Kottayam. A large crowd was witnessed in the camp at Baker School on the third consecutive day. The main reason for the disruption of vaccine distribution is the unregistered influx of people. With this, maintaining social distance was only in name. It was strictly directed to register names for vaccination.

Token was not given to those standing in the queue from 6.30 am onwards. Lapse from the side of the police is cited as the reason for the crisis. More police have been deployed in the area. In the meanwhile, shortage of vaccine is severe in the state. The vaccine camp at Koyilandy municipality has been deferred. Vaccination in 83 places of 90 centres in Pathanamthitta has been disrupted. Only 3500 doses remain in seven centres.
