KOZHIKODE: A 12-year-old boy, who was travelling on a bicycle, was attacked by a wild boar. The incident took place on Saturday morning at Cheppilangod in Thiruvambady in Kozhikode. The boy sustained serious injuries on both legs after being stabbed by the wild boar. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The wild boar that attacked the child was later shot dead.

Adnan, a class 7 student, was returning from a shop when the wild boar attacked him. After the incident, the wild boar fled from the area and got trapped in the premises of a nearby house. Following this, forest officials reached the area and shot down the wild boar with the help of an empanelled shooter.

The state government had recently decided to empower local bodies to exterminate wild boars that may be posing a threat to life, property, and agriculture.
