THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The march organized by the youth congress against tax hike turned violent. The march staged in Pathanamthitta and Ernakulam ended in a clash. The activists toppled the barricades and destroyed it. The march staged by the Congress yesterday ended in clashes and verbal disputes in many places. The youth congress organized protest programmes against the increase in fuel tax and other things today.

The activists threw bottles filled with water and branches at the police in Ernakulam. The police later used water cannons. There was a scuffle with the police. In the meanwhile, there was an attempt to admit the injured Youth Congress worker to the hospital. Two people were detained during the protest march of Mahila Congress workers in Thiruvananthapuram. Mahila Congress protested by pulling a car to the assembly.
