Youth dies in accident hours before birth of baby

THRISSUR: A youth died in an accident hours before the birth of his baby. The dead is Sarath (30), son of Balakrishnan of West Mangad Poovathur House. The accident happened Monday morning at 1.30 am.

His friend called Sarath at midnight saying that his bike ran out of petrol and is stuck on the road and sought his help. Sarath along with another friend left the house immediately. The bike in which they were travelling lost control and hit an electric post in Kunnamkulam. Though he was rushed to a private hospital in Kunnamkulam, his life could not be saved. His friend is in a serious condition.

Sarath was awaiting the birth of his baby after five years of marriage. His wife Namitha was admitted in the hospital for delivery on Sunday evening. Namitha has not been informed of his death. She was looking for her husband in the labour room. Namitha gave birth to a baby boy Monday afternoon.
