Zika confirmed outside Thiruvananthapuram; native of Kottayam who came to study disease diagnosed with virus

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Apart from the state capital, Zika virus has been confirmed in Kottayam. Health Minister Veena George said that a health worker who had come from Kottayam to study the disease has been confirmed with the disease. Today, four people have been diagnosed with the disease.

A 26-year-old from Anayara, a 25-year-old from Pettah and a 37-year -old from Anayara were diagnosed with the disease today. The virus was confirmed in a test conducted at the Medical College Virology Lab in Thiruvananthapuram. With this, a total of 42 people in the state have been diagnosed with the Zika virus. Of these, six are currently in treatment. Their health condition is satisfactory.
