THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The chief minister's statement against the NSS is untrue and it should not have happened from his side, said NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair. The chief minister is trying to twist his statement and nurture enmity with the NSS and its leadership. He registered his opinion in a press release issued.
The people want to vote for those who protect the values of secularism, democracy, social justice and faith. That is the condition of this country and the people have understood this. Hope a government giving peace to the people will be formed. He said this was what he had said before the local elections. 'The protests of the devotees have been there for a long time. It has not lessened. There will definitely be a reaction to it. A change of government is decided by the people. I understand that the people want a change of government. Let it happen according to the will of the people. I am not commenting more on that,' this was what Sukumaran Nair said on the election day.
Nair said the chief minister tried to distort and politicize his statement to create misunderstanding among the people and to have enmity towards the NSS and its leadership. This should not have happened from his side. The NSS would continue their stand for faith, he said.
