THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan on Saturday strongly criticized Governor Arif Mohammed Khan for his response against the Chief Minister and the University. He said that the governor is distorting the affairs before the eyes of the people and raised the allegation that the governor is doing propaganda work against the government and the university. "The governor's actions are unbecoming of his position. The Governor is attacking the CPM and SFI", MV Govindan said.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State V Muraleedharan came forward in support of the Governor. Muraleedharan said that Governor Arif Mohammed Khan is following the policy of fighting corruption adopted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Chief Minister need not be angry with the Governor. Don't think that Raj Bhavan can be silenced. If they think so, it is because they do not know who Arif Muhammed Khan is", Muraleedharan said. He added that Arif Mohammed Khan is the person who resigned in disagreement with Rajiv Gandhi's stance when he was the Prime Minister.

"The chief minister asks whether the wife of the staff in his office is not eligible to apply for a job. They have the right to apply. It should be in accordance with the law and it is corruption to hire the staff's wife with special treatment", V Muraleedharan said.
