ALAPPUZHA: CPM has convened a special meeting to discuss the complaint against former minister G Sudhakaran, filed by his former personal staff’s wife. The Purakkad local committee has convened the meet following the intervention of the party’s district leadership. Reports suggest that the complainant’s husband will also participate in the meet which will be held at the district committee office today at 2 pm. The Purakkad local committee has sought an explanation from him earlier but he has told the party leadership that he should be allowed to proceed with the complaint if an explanation is to be given.

The state leadership has given strict directions to district leaders to quell the controversy as soon as possible. It is expected that the woman’s husband will be given the explanation on the meeting to be held today. Sources say that action against him will be taken by the party.

Earlier, the woman has filed a complaint in Ambalapuzha police station against minister G Sudhakaran in which she alleged that the minister has issued sleazy and unsavoury comments against her in the press conference held on Alappuzha last Sunday. As a case was not registered on her complaint, she has also filed another complaint before the district police chief. However, the Ambalapuzha police have sought legal advice on whether a case should be registered on the complaint.
