Sees all movies on day of release; Kodiyeri was fond of diaries and pens

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Communist leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was a person who gave much importance to reading like politics. He had stated that the foundation of his political education was the knowledge and understanding he gained from the library. Kodiyeri found time for reading even during his busy party schedule.

He first stayed in the MLA quarters when the capital city became the centre of party activities. He used to watch all the movies released on the first day itself. Kodiyeri's office room in AKG flat also has a library. He was especially fond of pens and diaries. He likes whoever presents them. As soon as he gets a diary, he used to write his name 'Kodiyeri Balakrishnan' in it.

Meantime, the state will be paying homage to the strong leader of the CPM. The body will be brought to Kannur Thalassery at noon. The body will be kept at Thalassery Town Hall for the public to pay homage the whole day. The body was brought to the airport from Chennai Sri Ramachandra Hospital. From here the body will be taken to Thalassery Town Hall. The leader’s wife Vinodini, son Bineesh Kodiyeri and others will accompany the body.
