THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF has intensified their stance against the government on various controversial issues. The UDF meeting convened here Monday decided to launch a state-wide agitation against the K Rail project, the pride project of the state government. The strike will focus on the areas where the K Rail passes. A march will be held on December 18 to the Secretariat and various district collectorates.

The UDF has also raised its voice against the government in the ongoing infanticide in Attappady. The Front will also stage protests in the Attappady infant mortality issue. The UDF leaders will visit Attappady on December 6. The hospital has no paediatrician and no specialist treatment facilities. As the community kitchen project is just a name, there is a high rate of malnutrition among women here. It also creates a crisis for pregnant women and new-borns. The UDF will protest against all this. In the meanwhile, Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala did not attend today's UDF meeting.
