THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader Cherian Philip has praised UDF candidate Uma Thomas in the Thrikkakara by-election. In a Facebook post, Cherian Philip compared Uma Thomas to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Sri Lankan Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.

Uma Thomas is like a goddess of power. Uma, who conquers Thrikkakara is becoming a rising star in politics. She is the perfect symbol of secularism. Cherian Philip says Uma Thomas is the hope of future Kerala.
