THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been confirmed that Antony Raju, the lone MLA from the Janadhipathya Kerala Congress, will become a minister. Who else to get berths from the capital city? V Sivankutty of the CPM who won from Nemom or former mayor V K Prashanth who won from Vattiyoorkavu. The CPI's choice is for G R Anil who won from Nedumangad. If the LDF decides not to field more than two ministers from a district, then the chances of some of them will weaken. However, there are indications that Sivankutty has a good chance of becoming a minister.
G R Anil is a member of the CPI state committee for the last 12 years. He was district secretary for seven years. When the party gets four ministers, G R Anil cannot be rejected looking at his seniority.
Not only closing BJP’s only account in Nemom, being a member of the CPM state committee is also in favour of V Sivankutty. He is one of the state secretaries of CITU. Meantime, the demand to consider V K Prashanth is also raised. Prashanth, who wrested Vattiyoorkavu in the last by-election, was able to win a majority this time as a result of his development works done there. Prashanth is a member of the CPM Kazhakoottam area committee.
