THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader PK Krishnadas has criticized the naming of the Onam bazaar, which has been run by the Co-operation Department for a long time, as 'Onam-Muharram bazaar'.
"CM, you are afraid. Who are you trying to please by adding Muharram to Onam? Onam is the national festival of the Malayalees. Muharram is not a celebration for the Muslim people but a day of remembrance of tragedy. Did Pinarayi lose the courage to call Onam a national festival? The politics of appeasement had blinded the Chief Minister", Krishnadas wrote on Facebook.
