'Form new district by dividing Malappuram': Fathima Thahiliya says Wayanad and Malappuram with major difference in population get same consideration

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: MSF National Vice President Fathima Thahiliya has demanded the formation of a new district by dividing the Malappuram district. She posted her response on Facebook asking how much longer it would take to form a district with Tirur as the center.

"While many schemes of the Central and State Governments are given on district basis, Wayanad with a population of 8 lakhs and Malappuram with a population of 41 lakhs get the same consideration. This is unfair. We have seen this injustice, including in the distribution of vaccines. The only solution is to divide Malappuram district and form a new district with Tirur as the center", Fathima wrote on Facebook.
