Kerala home guard goes viral in other states after carrying handicapped Andhra native to Sabarimala temple

KOCHI: RS Bijukumar, a home guard of Edappally traffic station, has gone viral after carrying a handicapped Ayyappa devotee on his shoulder from Marakuttam to Sannidhanam. Bijukumar took Alli Raj, a native of Chittoor in Andhra, from Pampa to Sabarimala temple in a short time.

The picture of Bijukumar trekking the mountain carrying Alli Raj on his shoulders went viral in Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu. Biju, a native of Punalur, was a havildar in the army. After his retirement, he has been working at Edappally Traffic Station for the past five years.

Bijukumar noticed Alli Raj during a dolly pass inspection at Marakuttam. After carrying Alli Raj to Sannidhanam, he was taken over by the police officers there. Bijukumar said that he did not intend to carry him for the pictures and the only aim was to give Alli Raj an opportunity to meet Ayyappan.
