Kerala police come up with special note soon after court pronounced verdict on Vismaya case

The Kerala police on Tuesday came up with a special Facebook post soon after the court pronounced its verdict in the Vismaya case. Earlier today, the court had sentenced Kiran Kumar, husband of medical student Vismaya M Nair, to 10 years in jail. A fine of Rs 12.5 lakh was also imposed on him. The sentence was pronounced by Kollam additional district sessions court judge K N Sujith.

'The Kerala Police was able to ensure justice for Vismaya by filing a charge sheet on the 80th day through an investigation without any loopholes. Kerala Police is proud that Vismaya got justice. The court's verdict in the Vismaya case is a strong warning to the wicked men and their parents who are abusing girls in the name of of kilos of gold and money,' the note read.
