THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Alathur MP Ramya Haridas said that the completion of the Kuthiran tunnel was the first project in her mind. One of the reasons for the delay in the construction of the tunnel was the delay in getting the correspondence of the Environment Department from the state government. It should come as no surprise that many are rushing to take credit when construction is complete. It is no exaggeration to say that those who inaugurated Kannur Airport and Kochi Metro in six months will inaugurate it by constructing the tunnel in two months. Therefore, I did not expect any credit while putting on pressure to complete the project, Ramya wrote on Facebook.
All the MPs from Kerala have sincerely co-operated for this beyond party politics. I would like to thank the Hon'ble Union Minister for Road Transport, Shri Nitin Gadkari, and the Union MoS Shri V Muraleedharan, for their co-operation in opening the first phase of the Kuthiran tunnel, which was fully funded by the Central Government. "Greetings to all who stood together for the development of the state beyond politics," Ramya wrote in her Facebook post.
