THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Despite being an important road in the capital city, the Shangumugham-Airport road has been in a state of disrepair for the last three years. The road was almost completely destroyed by the Ockhi disaster and the rough seas. Following this, several people lashed out at the authorities for neglecting the deplorable state of the road.
Now, PWD minister Mohammed Riyas has come up announcing that the repair works of the road were underway. In his Facebook post, Riyas wrote that the public works department was assessing the repair works and that steps were being taken to tackle the rough seas by constructing a diaphragm wall. He added that the construction was expected to be completed by February 2022.
