Crime branch says letter circulating in name of mayor is fake, case will be taken soon, Anavoor's statement via phone is enough

mayor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The crime branch found that the letter of Mayor Arya Rajendran sent to CPM Thiruvananthapuram District Secretary Anavoor Nagappan, being circulated is fake. The crime branch has decided to file a case for forging the letter. The SP will report to the DGP soon. Only the statements of the mayor and Anavoor Nagappan were recorded on the issue. No scientific research was conducted. There were hints earlier that Anavoor Nagappan's statement was recorded over the phone, now it is reported that his statement will not be recorded.

Mayor Arya Rajendran had lodged a complaint with the chief minister on the letter controversy. The chief minister forwarded this complaint to the DGP. The investigation started after the letter was handed over to the crime branch. The mayor had earlier given a statement to the crime branch stating that the letter was forged after changing her letter pad. Anavoor Nagappan also testified that he had not received the letter. The original letter was not found in the incident. The crime branch could see only the screenshot copy. The crime branch is of the stand that a case should be filed to find the original letter by conducting a forensic examination. This is in the report.
