Pahalgam attack: Terrorists celebrated massacre by dancing merrily, fired four rounds in air
NEW DELHI: An eyewitness in the dastardly Pahalgam attack recounted the terrorists dancing merrily after murdering almost 26 civilians in the valley. The eyewitness also said that the terrorist fired four rounds to celebrate the success. The revelation is from an eyewitness identified by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) with the help of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
It was also revealed that three terrorists were seen in the Baisaran Valley after the attack.NIA believes this to be a crucial point in the investigation.
"The terrorists stopped me when I was about to return from the Baisaran Valley. They asked me to recite the Kalima. I was let go when I spoke in the local accent. Then they started celebrating. They fired four rounds in the air,' said the eyewitness.
Based on his statement, the investigation team searched the area and recovered four bullets.
Last month, the NIA had arrested Parvez Ahmad Jotar and Bashir Ahmad, both residents of the area. They had confessed to providing food and shelter to the terrorists. They had also provided information about three armed terrorists, who are Pakistani nationals.
An eyewitness also revealed that he saw Parvez and Bashir standing on a nearby hill with the belongings of the terrorists. Based on the eyewitness statement, the NIA questioned Parvez and Bashir in detail.
Parvez said that three terrorists came to his house at 3 pm the day before the attack and demanded food. "They had weapons in their hands. They were given food. They stayed at the house for four hours and asked for directions to Baisaran and also enquired about the peak hours of tourist rush in the spot. Before leaving, they asked my wife to pack some spices and rice and gave us Rs 500," Parvez said.
After that, the terrorists saw Bashir and asked both to reach Baisaran by 12.30 pm on April 22.
