‘Modiji was a great friend of my mother, he will get justice for me’; Jayalalithaa's 'daughter' Sunitha
THRISSUR: Sunitha, a Malayali woman claiming to be Jayalalithaa's daughter, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will get justice for her. Sunitha had submitted a memorandum to the President, Prime Minister and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, alleging that her mother was murdered.
'Modiji was a good friend of my mother. My mother had told me about this. I had tried to meet him, but couldn’t. I believe that Modiji will take the initiative and get justice for me. I don't want any money. My mother's killers should be brought before law. I want only that,' said Sunitha.
K M Sunitha of Thrissur had claimed that she is the daughter of MGR and Jayalalithaa. 41-year-old Sunitha has two children. She revealed that she is estranged from her husband.
Born in Chennai, she was moved to Kerala by MGR through his employee Madhavan. This was without Jayalalithaa's permission. She was raised secretly. MGR named her Sunitha. She said that MGR died when she was two and a half years old. When she was 18, Jayalalithaa conducted a DNA test and found that she was her daughter. She would occasionally visit Jayalalithaa at her residence in Poes Garden in Chennai. She also said that she had received financial assistance from the moment she was identified as her daughter until August 2024.
Sunitha said Jayalalithaa had decided to hold a press meet on September 22 in 2016, to publicly announce her as her daughter. She had reached her home in Chennai at 8 am on that day. She saw something terrifying. Jayalalithaa was lying motionless under the staircase. She was pushed from the top. TTV Dinakaran, Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran were around her. Saw Sasikala slapping Jayalalithaa. When she started crying, one of the staff members covered her mouth and took her out. She was somehow rescued from there. Meanwhile, she lost her bag. She immediately returned to Kerala and if had stayed there, they would have killed her. Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital on September 22, 2016. She died on December 6.
