THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rains in the state till October 15. A cyclonic circulation remains over the southeast Arabian Sea and the adjoining north Kerala coast. Therefore, there is a possibility of isolated rain with thundershowers in Kerala and Mahe till October 15. Winds are also likely to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph. The IMD has issued a yellow alert in various districts.

Meantime, the IMD has asked not to venture into the sea for fishing along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts today. There is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts with a speed of 35 to 45 kmph and at times up to 55 kmph.
