KANNUR: A Madrassa teacher has been arrested for extorting money and gold from children, after threatening them that their head will explode if they didn’t obey.

The arrested person is Abdul Kareem (60) of Kannur’s Ulikkal Madrassa.

Police said that the accused has also used children for unnatural sex. The man scared the children, saying that if they want to go to heaven, they should bring money and gold.

The incident came to light after five and a half sovereign gold from a house went missing last week. Kareem who fled from the region was arrested Tuesday morning.
