‘Threw broken handle of pan of head’; former Indian cricketer’s wife accuses him of assault

MUMBAI: Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli’s wife has filed complaint against him. Mumbai Police registered a case against Kambli on the complaint of causing physical harm to his wife in the flat. Kambli's wife, Andrea Hewitt, has filed a complaint that she was insulted and assaulted by her drunken husband at their flat in Bandra last Friday.

The incident took place last Friday between 1 pm and 1.30 pm. Kambli, who was drunk, took a pan from the kitchen and attacked her. According to the complaint, the handle of the pan used for cooking was thrown at her head and she suffered a head injury in the attack. Following this, Andrea sought treatment at Bhabha Hospital in Mumbai. Later a complaint was lodged with the police.
