Air force exercise receives cheers from the crowd

SHANGUMUGHAM: The aerial exercise of the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) organized at Shankhumukham with the coordination of the airforce and government was a spectacle for the spectators. Nine aircraft belonging to the Surya Kiran Hawk category carried out exercises in the sky yesterday.

The jets, which took off from the Air Force base at 9.05 am, soared to a height of 8,000 feet in the blue sky and then descended sharply to 100 feet at the same speed causing the spectators to be in the edge of their seats. Flying back to the sky again the planes startled the audience with maneuvers from different angles. Each plane was flying from different parts and gave an amazing performance. The performances lasted for 22 minutes. The troops put on a magnificent display of precise close formation, demonstrating professionalism and confidence in their abilities. Demonstrations took place at altitudes ranging from 100 feet to 8000 feet. The Suriya Kiran team's performances showed the ability to reach the borders of the country and perform rescue operations within seconds and the strength of the Indian Air Force, which has raised the country's reputation sky high in the front lines.

Suriyakiran team was felicitated by Minister Sivankutty, Mayor Arya Rajendran, Katakampally Surendran MLA, DGP Sandhya. Senior officers of the Air Force, Army and Coast Guard were present. The Coast Guard had deployed two ships for the security of the event.
