Images of missing CI obtained, withdraws Rs 10,000 from ATM

v-s-navaz

KOCHI: A search for the missing central station inspector V S Navaz of Ernakulam is still continuing. A private channel obtained the CCTV clippings of Navaz withdrawing cash from the ATM in Thevara. He reached the ATM early Thursday morning from the central station.

He was seen wearing a T-shirt and pants. He spent two and a half minutes in the ATM. He had withdrawn Rs 10,000. The reason for the spat with assistant commissioner is also probed. He was found missing after a fight with his senior official over a wireless set. The police is investigating the case on the complaint lodged by his wife. A special team led by DCP G Poonguzhali is trying to trace Navas, who was reportedly seen last at Kayamkulam. The ACP had allegedly abused him personally over the wireless set, which was reportedly heard by personnel on night duty. He was under tremendous stress following the incident. He had also reportedly hinted at relinquishing his post and even returned his wireless set and official SIM card to the police station before he went missing. Navas had a good track record and was credited for being a straightforward and efficient officer, sources said.
