NEW DELHI: Prime minister Narendra Modi in an online appearance with France president Emmanuel Macron agreed on a deal to buy 250 aircraft from Airbus. The deal touted as the revival of Air India is the biggest aviation signing in history. TATA group chairman N Chandrashekhar in the video conference said the 250 aircraft deal is part of bringing back the old sheen of Air India, which is pushing all its might to become an international giant in the airline business.

PM Modi in his speech enunciated more about the strong bonhomie between India and France. He also added that in the coming years, India will burgeon in ranks to the third spot in the Aviation business. France's president Macron panegyrized the Narendra Modi factor and commented that under the leadership of Modi, the relationship between France and India can only get stronger.

India has long vied for an assembly plant of Airbus in the country, a move to equal the numbers with neighboring China. With such a humungous deal getting finalized, the prospects of an industrial plant in India remains highly presumed.
