Lovers arrive in Goa to celebrate Valentine’s Day without informing families; drown in sea

PANAJI: Lovers who came to Goa to celebrate Valentine's Day without informing their families drowned in the sea. The accident took place at Palolem beach on Monday evening. The deceased have been identified as Supriya Dubey (26) and Vibhu Sharma (27), natives of Uttar Pradesh. As soon as the police received the information, they reached the spot and brought the bodies to the shore with the help of life guards. The couple was immediately rushed to the Konkan Social Health Centre but was declared brought dead by the doctors.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Supriya lived in Bengaluru and Vibhu lived in Delhi. The police said that both are relatives and the family members did not know that they have come to Goa. The police said Supriya and Vibhu were in Goa for the past two days and were spotted by locals near Palolem beach on Monday. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
